Life, the unexpected, and our quest of being the most awesome duo. Ever.

2 Months & Such

Baby girl turned 2-months-old on Saturday (yikes!) and went for her checkup yesterday. She was supposed to get her first “big” round of vaccines. So, what do we do? Split them.

(Pause for various insults from the public…)

By delaying some of her vaccines, we are not putting our daughter at risk. We are not risking other children’s health. We are not being selfish and we are not being stupid. We are being diligent and taking the time to care for our daughter’s well-being. Anyway, she goes back next week for the remainder of her two-month vaccines. So, hush.

Anyway. Roo-baby is absolutely fantastic. Weighing in at 11.4 pounds and 22.5 inches long, I’d say she is pretty awesome. But then again, I’m pretty biased.

We are also taking her on her first “vacation” this weekend. (We went to my parents’ house overnight a few weeks ago but I don’t really count that as a “vacation” since I think “vacations” consist of being gone for more than one night. Anyway…) I’ll get back to you on how successful this trip is. The trip itself is 4.5 hours long but with the babe, you can bet your under-garments it will be way longer.

Fingers crossed!

This little critter is 7 1/2 weeks old… already! & I go back to work Monday… which makes for one incredibly sad mama. 😦

However, Roo is beautiful and amazing. Basically, we think she is the most awesome human in the world. Ever. Also, she rolled over yesterday which is NOT fine by me! What is fine?

Oh, just… her sneezes, desire to constantly snuggle with one of us, her ridiculous smiles, baby noises, baby noises, warm & wrinkly skin, baby noises, and her smiles. Her fuzzy hair is pretty great too. 🙂

She’s here!

Roo_Morgan

Rooney girl arrived 16 days early on December 16th, 2012! 😀 We are totally in love with her whacky sleep pattern, frequent nursings, crazy bodily excretions, & adorable noises.

We are very, very, very tired parents. ❤

Upcoming D-Day!

How Far Along: 37 weeks & 2 days

Gender: Girl

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks Contractions (OW), sore pelvic area (quite an understatement), itchy skin (hello, cocoa butter!), weird skin allergies, swollen feet, aching lower back, & my rings no longer fit :-(.

Energy Level: What? I’m supposed to have energy at this point? Oh. *However, I am forcing myself to continue exercising because baby girl WILL come before or on her due date.

Mood: Anxious but incredibly excited.

Cravings: Pineapple & lots of it.

Food Aversions: Greek yogurt w/ baking chocolate (see last week’s post).

Sleep: Depends on the night, really. I wake up every time I roll over, which is often, but some nights I am actually able to get some solid hours of “beauty” sleep.

Best Moment This Week: Watching hubs install the car seats. I know, I am officially a lame adult.

What I’m Thankful For This Week: Less than 3 weeks left! yes, I am incredibly optimistic.

Funny Story Of This Week: I don’t know but poking baby girl’s butt every time she sticks it up is pretty funny. To me.

Weirdest Pregnancy Dream Of This Week: I have been having a LOT of labor & delivery dreams.

How Has My Body Changed This Week: Swollen feet. 😦

36 Weeks Pregnant & Carrying a Kettlebell

How Far Along: 36 WEEKS

Gender: Girl

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks Contractions (thank goodness!), sore pelvic area (quite an understatement), itchy skin (hello, cocoa butter!), & weird skin allergies. Attractive.

Energy Level: What? I’m supposed to have energy at this point? Oh.

Mood: Anxious!

Cravings: Greek yogurt w/ baking chocolate (it tastes like pudding… delicious, protein-filled pudding).

Food Aversions: None at the moment.

Sleep: It has been AWFUL! Although I am constantly so tired, I thrash all night, ruining the bed sheets and pillow assortment, because of my Braxton Hicks. Poor hubs.

Best Moment This Week: Creating my plans for the substitute during my Maternity Leave 🙂

What I’m Thankful For This Week: Four more weeks! Four more weeks!

Funny Story Of This Week: One of my students, who has an insane speech impediment, asking me “Why is your belly so big?”

Weirdest Pregnancy Dream Of This Week: Nothing.

How Has My Body Changed This Week: I have an “outie”.

35 Bucks & Some Change…

Yea, do you see that belly? That LOW baby girl? Seriously. We had an ultrasound yesterday and her head is SO low that we couldn’t even see her face. We just got a nice chin and lip shot… sweet.

What does this mean? No freaking clue… except it explains a lot! I feel like baby girl is knocking on my nether-regions door.

Just give us a few more weeks! You still have some  cooking to do, baby girl. ❤

A LARGE canteloupe?

For real? “Large”? As opposed to what!?

I feel massive. Huge. Gigantic. Like an OOMPA LOOMPA from ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”… except much less orange.

Baby girl is painful and, quite frankly, far too big for my frame. I can handle six more weeks, right? Right!?
